Back to Work and a Thank You

Writing Status - New Novella
Mood - Excited
Playing on itues - Flagpole Sitta by Harvey Danger

Yesterday, I wrote an astounding 6.5k words. I decided to write my first contemporary story -- Make Me Shiver -- for Samhain's Winter Red Hots submissions. The characters came to life the minute I sat down, both the hero and heroine speaking to me loud and clear. It's been a long time since I've written this much in one stretch, but I can say it's so nice to return to it.

Oddly enough, the hubs asked what I was working on. When I answered "smut", he said: "I thought you were going to focus on your urban fantasy."

I had to explain that sometimes you had to write for fun -- period. There is a freedom in it that allows you to reconnect with what you enjoy about writing in the first place.

I also wanted to take a moment and thank everyone who has purchased, spread the word about, and supported Dead, Undead, or Somewhere in Between. It dropped to #453 on the Amazon/Kindle chart this week (and hit #8 on two of the best seller categories) and that's all due to you. So thank you!

Happy Friday, everyone!!!
