Yesterday marked the beginning of release day nerves. Man, oh man, I'd forgotten how bad they are. Someone asked me why I get so nervous. The simple answer is I want to please folks. Knowing I might not is difficult. Don't get me wrong. I know there will be many who dislike The Ripple Effect. When I say it's dark, I'm not kidding. Lots goes down in this book. Rhiannon doesn't always make the smartest decisions (including those from her past) and she pays for them -- big time.
However, I have read the book several times now and I will say that I'm proud of it. I managed to return to horror (which I love) and put, what I feel, is a lot of emotion in the story. I've also started thinking about the next book (and the book after) and where things will go. I have a pretty decent idea now. I'm excited to delve into the world of angels and demons and share the knowledge with all of you.
Less than a week! Then the book will arrive. I'll post on the big day (July 31st) and share purchase links as they come in. I truly hope you appreciate the book (even if you can't say you "enjoy" it). I'll do my best to lighten the mood in Edge of Darkness, although you can expect more horror elements from here on in. Half-demons are repulsive things, let me tell you!
Back to work! I'll talk to you all soon. As always, I couldn't do this without you. Thank you for being so full of awesome.
