Rhiannon's Law News

So many have emailed me about the Rhiannon's Law series. Is it coming back? Are you going to stop writing the books? Will there be more? Will we know what happens next? Well, here's the deal. I submitted to a couple of places but was offered a contract with a very reputable publisher. I hesitated, due in part to how heavily pirated the series has been. Yet, when I get new emails, I realize there are legitimate fans who purchase the books and want more.

So...

I recently signed a contract for Dead, Undead, or Somewhere in Between with Samhain. The Renfield Syndrome and The Ripple Effect are in my editors capable hands (blurbs and such are subject to change and I'll probably revise those on my website soon). She's assured me she wants this series (I've never met an editor who has been this enthusiastic about my work -- I'm not kidding). Therefore I subbed both books to her and will soon send her the first five chapters of Edge of Darkness and a synopsis for a proposal. If all goes well, this is what'll happen.

November 2014: Dead, Undead, or Somewhere in Between will re-release. I revised the story heavily and added around 7k words.

February 2015 (or March 2015): The Renfield Syndrome (revised with added scenes) will release.

May 2014 (or June 2015): The Ripple Effect (revised with added scenes) will release.

August -- September 2015: Edge of Darkness will release.

2015/2016 (not sure when exactly) the next book (as yet untitled) will release.

After this point, I will wait and see how things go. I've seen this series going on for perhaps 7-10 books (perhaps longer, but it depends). If sales are good and I can write the characters I love (and make a living) Rhiannon will share her journey with you. Also, you can expect to hear from Marigold and Bane (and perhaps Disco and Paine) in novellas and such.

So mark your calendars. The first book is in the bag (I just sent in my cover art request). The series will continue and I'm confident Samhain (and my editor) will make the books what they should have been all along. I know I've promised this before but, as a new author, I often made bad choices. I take full blame. That being said, Samhain is hard and getting into the publishing house is even harder. I will have to up my game and keep things flowing (that's a good thing) to ensure you get what you want.

Rhiannon fans...she's returning. Bad things will happen (the series does become darker), but, in true Rhiannon style, she will face what she must and "try" to come out on top.

I hope this is good news for those who support the series (and my family) by purchasing the stories. For those who've asked: the additional revisions are scenes with Rhiannon, Disco, and Paine. I provide a deeper insight into their lives and (I hope) give you a deeper glimpse into the characters.

The short stories I've offered will (I'm working on this) be free online on my blog, website and Amazon if I can make it happen (and other vendors). I will continue doing those as well.

So there you go. A HUGE update. I got my rights back and waited for several months for a contract offer. Now that it's signed, I'm ready to move forward. I hope this is good news for those who enjoy Rhiannon and want to know what happens next. A warning, however: it probably isn't what you expect...faces you believed are long gone will return...and they'll be VERY different.

I'm a day early but Happy New Year! Thank you again for all the support and emails. And yes, my new UF series is almost complete. I'll update on that when I can. OH! And for those who worried about Crimson Sunset: it's coming. I have to wait for rights to revert (otherwise I'd have to give the third book to my publisher). Expect Crimson Sunset to release (along with Crimson Sunrise, re-released in the fall of 2014).

All My Best!

There aren't words for how happy I am for you and ME! I adore this series and all the evil things you do to the characters. Best of luck in the new year and if there is any way I can help let me know :)

Great news! I have a question though - are you changing the story in Dead, Undead…….? Will they need to be re-read with the new additions to the story? :)

Hiya lj!

I added a lot with Rhiannon and Disco (and Paine). I wanted a deeper perspective. That being said, the plot is exactly the same. So you can easily follow along until Edge of Darkness. :)

Happy New Year!

Could you include a link for (optional) donations when you post your Rhiannon's Law short stories? That would give those of us who love the series a way to pay-it-back. I think you'd be surprised how many people would donate to Rhiannon's Law if that option was available. Anyway, I am a big fan and it's something I've seen other authors do. And I liked being able to say thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to wait and see how things go. Hopefully, it'll be good and I can write at least a book a year in the series. :)
